US Air Force Remains Silent After A Recent Mysterious Meteor Attack

A vast meteor crashed with an incredible force of 2.1 kilotons last month, however, the US Air Force didn’t mention nor comment the event. What are the mysterious reasons behind their silence?

NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory confirmed that an object of unknown size hit Greenland on 25th of July with a speed of 24.4 kilometers per second.

More precisely, it struck Earth 43 kilometers north of a previous missile alert Thule Air Base.

Hans Kristensen, director of the Nuclear Information Project for the Federation of American Scientists published a tweet about the event. On the other hand, the US Air Force decided to stay silent for still unidentified reasons.

Mr. Kristensen implied that someone could easily mistake the meteor as a “Russian first strike”.

A PR official of the Air Force said for the Independent: “We’re not providing any comment on that, except that it didn’t impact operations at Thule.”

Besides, the Thule Air Base public site also didn’t report any information regarding the strange event.

If the meteor broke through Earth’s atmosphere at a somewhat different angle, it could have had a disastrous impact.

For instance, a large meteor which hit Chelyabinsk, Russia in 2013 damaged over 7,000 people and hurt over 1,500 people.
